There is a great site for inspiration of interiors called “Olioboard”.
It is a website where you can virtually create a room based on design features the website supplies.
You are offered an empty board where you can drop and drag furniture, accessories, lighting, and flooring to create a space within your home.
What I love about this site is that you can play around with designs and colours if you are not sure about what look you want in your next renovation.
I played around with it for about five minutes and created these two rooms-one is playing with adding blue to an existing room design in my home-to see if I like the addition of the colour. (I matched their furniture they offered as close as I could to what I had and then played with adding blue to it, changes some pieces but you can also upload your own images to the boards so if you are ambitious enough, you can take a picture of your existing couch and upload it and then play around with accessories etc.) So if you want to change your flooring-add one to see if it would go with what you already have or if you are renovating from scratch use the olioboard for inspiration!
The other board I played with colour and fabrics for my girls room. They know they want teal/blue walls and have white furniture already including the bunk bed so I played with some furnishings and accessories so they could see what it would look like!
But the neat thing is, if you see something on Olioboard that you like, they have a link to the store where you can purchase that item.
For instance, I drooled over this light fixture I put in the girls virtual room, and found it is sold at a store in the states called Layla Grace.
(press on the picture of the pendant and you will see the stores listing price of it..needless to say, it won’t be hung any time soon in the girls room!)
I also found this curtain-albeit a shower curtain, but a curtain none the less and thought it would look awesome with the girls colours and it is sold at a store called Anthropologie.
It is a great site for design and inspiration, and a good outlet for you creative types!
